IDVisor 310 / IDVisor Pro Software Update Directions

This document explains how to update the IDVisor software onto your IDVisor M310/M310S and Pro handheld.

Items Required:

IDVisor ID Scanner (m310/m310s/Pro)
USB Cable
Charging Dock or Clip on Base(IDVisor Pro only)
PC or MAC (IDVisor Pro only)
If M310/M310s – ActivSync installed on PC
IDVisor Updater software – download the latest version of the IDVisor updater software for your device from our website at: http://idscannerus.wpengine.com – then select the software Updates menu item. (e.g. IDVisor_Pro_1.4.4.2_UpgradeCAB.CAB or IDVisor_M310S_1.2.0.3_UpgradeCAB.CAB)

There are two sections below – one for the IDVisor m310 / m310s which requires ActiveSync and a PC followed by a section for the IDVisor Pro which does NOT require ActiveSync and works with a PC or a MAC computer.

M310 / M310s directions (using ActiveSync – PC required)

Connect the Scanner to the PC and when prompted by Active Sync or Mobile Device Center, select File Management, then browse the Contents of your Device to examine the contents of the SD card. This will open up the device in Windows to browse the Storage Card . Go the Storage Card folder. Below are examples of the files you will see in the directory by model.
Copy the Upgrade CAB for your scanner model to the Storage card directory.After the file is successfully copied. to the Storage card directory, you can disconnect the scanner from the PC.	IDVisor M310/M310S Storage card Directory
On the scanner , Go to the Setup then select Close Application.You will be prompted to enter a passcode.If the correct passcode has been entered you will be brought to the desktop(The default is 5 6 7 8 unless it has been changed ).From the desktop ,Select my Device then Storage card and select the UpgradeCAB. You will see the following prompt Informing you IDVisor Touch is Already installed and where it will be installed. Select OK for both prompts. A thrird prompt may appear asking to overwrite the old files. Select Yes to All. The software will take a second to install and the UpgradeCab will disappear. Press the Button in the top right to return to the Desktop and select the IDVisor shortcut to launch the program.
At the main menu, press the About button to confirm the new version #.

Pro directions (PC or MAC )

These instructions will guide you through accessing the Storage card on the IDvisor Pro if you are using a PC without Windows Mobile Device Center, Active Sync or a Mac.

From the Home Screen, Select Setup then Database.

Setup Menu Database Maintenance

From the Database Maintenance screen, Select the Go button adjacent to Export customer file. This will create an excel spreadsheet with the data from your current database as well as give you access to the Storage Card.

Once the Export is done, Attach the Clip on base or Place the IDvisor Pro in the included Charger Dock and plug in the USB Cable. Press Ok .The Connect to PC screen will appear.

On PC should recognize the device as a Removable Drive. An AutoPlay prompt may appear, Select Open folder to view files .

(If no prompt appears ,go to My Computer .Removable Drive should be listed in Devices with Removable Storage)

On Mac the Removable Drive should appear as an icon on your desktop.

Export Complete prompt Connect to PC Screen

Copy the Upgrade CAB for your scanner model to the Storage card directory. After the file is successfully copied. to the Storage card directory, you can disconnect the scanner from the PC.

IDVisor Pro Storage Directory

On the scanner, Press Close on the Connect to Scanner Screen, then Exit. Select Close Application on the Setup Menu. You will be prompted to enter a passcode. If the correct passcode has been entered you will be brought to the desktop (The default is 5 6 7 8 unless it has been changed ).

From the desktop ,Select my Device then Storage card and select the UpgradeCAB.
