How to connect the IDVisor M310 / M310S to a computer.

How to connect the IDVisor M310 / M310S to a PC computer

Note: This does not work with MAC OS – only Windows

Windows XP – Using Microsoft ActiveSync:

When connecting the IDVisor M310 / M310S to your computer using the Microsoft ActiveSync, you will have to configure the client to see the device. The following steps are to configure your IDVisor M310 / M310S on a Windows XP system:

Note: This document assumes that the Microsoft ActiveSync is currently installed on your Windows XP system. For more info on the installation process please refer to the following page:

  1. Connect the IDVisor M310 / M310S using the USB cable provided with the unit to an open USB port on the PC.
  2. When you connect the device the ActiveSync window should open up on your system. It will then prompt you to either setup a Partnership with the device or setup as a guest. Select the “No” button and then select “Next”.

     

     

  3. Once you select guest the screen should now say “Guest” and “Connected”.

     

     

From here simply click on the “Explore” button and this will open up the Explorer Window to the device. From here you can copy data from the device to your Windows Desktop.

 

Windows 7 / 8 – Using Windows Mobile Device Center:

When connecting the IDVisor M310 / M310S to your computer using the Windows Mobile Device Center, you will have to configure the client to see the device. The following steps are to configure your IDVisor M310 / M310S on a Windows 7 / 8 systems:

 

1.      Connect the device to the desktop/laptop using the provided USB cable.  If this is the first time you are connecting this device to your desktop/laptop you may be prompted to install device drivers.  For 32 Bit OS simply run the device wizard to install the mobile device.  For 64 Bit OS you will need to download drivers from the manufacture.  For more info on this setup read “Active Sync – Mobile Device Center – M310 USB Driver” post.

2.      Once the device is installed and configured the Windows Mobile Device application will open.  One the program opens select the “Connect without setting up device” option.

3.      On the next window select the “File Management” button and then select “Browse the contents of your device”.

Once you select this option, Windows Explorer should open to the device window.  From here you can copy data from the device to your Windows Desktop.
