How To Access IDWedgeKB Flash Drive Mode On Mac

Accessing Flash Drive Mode on an IDWedgeKB using a Mac

The IDWedgeKB is compatible with a Mac OS as a scanner. However, the Flash Drive mode of the IDWedgeKB is only accessible using a Windows OS. Being able to access the Flash Drive mode on the IDWedgeKB is of high importance since that is where you would be able to configure your formula and edit other configurations for your device.

In order to access the Flash Drive mode on a Mac, you will have to download a Windows Virtual Machine or use a Windows PC (Preferred).

NOTE: If you have access to a Windows PC see here on how to access the Flash Drive mode on your IDWedgeKB.

How to Install a Windows Virtual Machine on a Mac OS

The Windows Virtual Machine we will use is called Parallels Desktop 15 For Mac. We found that this is the best Windows Virtual Machine for our purposes. We will use the 14 day free trial version of this virtual machine.

Before proceeding with the steps below, please review and confirm your Mac OS meets the system requirements for Parallels Desktop 15 For Mac by clicking here.

NOTE: We suggest purchasing the full version of Parallels Desktop 15 For Mac after the 14 day trial period is over if you are unable to gain access to a Windows PC to access the Flash Drive mode of your IDWedgeKB in the future.

Step 1:

Please visit here to download the trial version of Parallels Desktop 15 For Mac.

Click here to follow the download and install directions for the Parallels Desktop 15 For Mac trial. You will have to create a free account to use the 14 day free trial. You do not have to enter payment information.

Step 2:

Once the installation is complete and you are signed in to your Parallels account, the Windows Virtual Machine will begin to startup on your Mac.

After the the Windows Virtual Machine starts up, you will see a normal Windows 10 desktop on your Mac. You have successfully installed the Windows Virtual Machine on your Mac.

Step 3:

We will now go through the normal steps of connecting an IDWedgeKB in Flash Drive mode as you normally would on a Windows PC.

See here on how to access the Flash Drive mode on your IDWedgeKB using a Windows OS.

After connecting your IDWedgeKB in Flash Drive mode, the Virtual Machine will ask which operating system you will like to use to access the IDWedgeKB. Select Windows 10.

After you select Windows 10 to access the IDWedgeKB you will see the Flash Drive of the IDWedgeKB appear on your Windows Virtual Machine desktop. You are now able to access the Flash Drive on your IDWedgeKB and configure your Formulas, Configuration files, etc as normal.

Please remember we are using a 14 day free trial period version of Parallels Desktop 15 For Mac.
