Height and Weight fields

There are two systems for measuring the Ht and Wt fields, English and Metric.

Cards issued in USA will use English system and cards issued elsewhere (Canada) will use metric.

From the AAMVA spec:

Height:

Height of cardholder.  Inches (in): number of inches followed by ” in” ex. 6’1” = “073 in”
Centimeters (cm): number of centimeters followed by ” cm” ex. 181 centimeters=”181 cm”

Weight:

Possible Metric outputs in KG: 31, 38, 52, 65, 78, 93, 107, 120, 136, 146

Possible English outputs in LB: 70. 85. 115, 145, 175, 205, 235, 265, 300, 321

NOTE: there is no designator (Lb or Kg) for the weight field. The application can inspect the parsed Country code (USA or CAN) to determine which designator (Lb or Kg) or the app can determine from which set of numbers the value came from.

There are older cards that reported actual weights, and those cards appended either Lb or Kg to the field, but these cards are gradually being replaced. The older cards were issued up to 2001, and are expired in most jurisdictions (AZ is and exception, that state issues a drivers license that does not expire until the card holder is 65, so there are some old AZ licenses still in use today)
