IDWedgeKB Serial Port data in the browser with NodeJS

This post will provide all the files and instructions required to demonstrate the IDWedgeKB in Serial Port mode sending data to the browser using NodeJS to host a server written in JavaScript.

You can download all the resources required to run the demonstration from this post.

You will need:

  • IDWedgeKB
  • A PC running Firefox, Chrome, or IE
  • A Drivers License with a 2D barcode
  • The SerialServer test app – a folder with the javascript file/app and the html page
  • The inf files to assist in installing the built in Serial Driver for Windows
  • The document – IDWedgeKB Serial Port and NodeJS

The inf files to install the IDWedgeKB, unzip this to a folder on your PC, you will need this during h/w installation.

IDWedgeKB-inf_files.zip

 

The SerialServer test app, unzip this to a folder on your PC to a folder you will navigate to with the command prompt

SerialServer.zip
